A New Voice for Davis
I've called Davis home my whole life. Everything I am, this place had a hand in making. Now I want to do the same for it.
About Nathan
I'm Nathan James Harper . I am a mental health professional, writer, and civic advocate rooted in Davis, California.
My path has woven together psychology, athletics, direct clinical work, and public service, giving me an unusual lens on human nature, resilience, and what it actually takes to build healthy communities. I've spent years working alongside individuals facing some of life's most serious challenges, and that work shapes everything I do: how I think, how I write, and how I show up in civic life.
I'm future-oriented and unafraid to speak plainly about what our communities need. Whether through my work in mental health, my writing, or my long-term commitment to public leadership, my aim is consistent: to help people find stability, dignity, and a genuine sense of belonging, and to contribute to a Davis and a broader region worth living in for everyone.

Davis is a community worth fighting for, and the people who live here should have a real say in what it becomes.
I'm working toward a long-term role in Davis civic life, and before I get there, I genuinely want to hear from you. What does your street, your neighborhood, your corner of this city actually need? Where do you feel like nobody's listening? What do you want Davis to look like for your kids, or twenty years from now when you're still here?
This isn't a campaign page. I'm just a Davis native who cares deeply about this place and wants to understand it better through the people who make it what it is. So reach out. Tell me what's on your mind. I'm listening.
